Are you ready to do another one? Come on, you have to admit there is something addictive about splashing paint all over a HUGE canvas right? Ok, so let’s move on to our more neutral piece.

I wanted to create a neutral piece for you guys so we could really understand how important contrast, texture and value is. When there is a lack of color these two elements become incredibly important. Contrast, texture and value become the interest in a neutral painting and even a neutral room! A room done all in neutrals can be incredibly boring - think builder beige - BUT if you incorporate lights and darks (contrast and value) and texture the room can be inviting, calming and beautiful! Here are some gorgeous neutral rooms and pieces of artwork!

***Paint colors & supplies used in this painting - you DO NOT need to get these all I am only mentioning them so you have the information.***

These next three piece were inspiration for my neutral painting! I highly recommend collecting images of artwork that inspires you. Choose three and then take elements from each other them and incorporate them into your work. See what you like…..try on different marks and colors and see what resonates with you.
