The supplies needed for embroidery is minimal. All you really need is some thread, a needle, a piece of cloth and scissors. Of course, there are a few other supplies that make this are more convenient and fun.
Fabric- I used a cotton that is dark and has some glitter to it. Sheer and stretchy fabric can be very difficult to work on.
Thread (also known as floss) - I use DMC brand, found at most craft supply stores. I basically used three shades of blue, glow in the dark white and a small amount of a sparkly blue. The colors are organized by numbers rather than names:
