Realm of the Fae

2

Lesson

I hope you will enjoy the process of starting out with a monochromatic background and finishing your painting with a contrasting colour palette. It will make your life a little easier while boosting up the emotion in your art. Win-win, right?

Go ahead and give it a go! I promise it will be fun and it will help you to overcome the overwhelm of setting a scene. You’ve got this!

I give you full permission to use this reference photo of my lovely niece. May she inspire your muses for many moons to come.

supply list

  • Mixed media or watercolour paper
  • Gesso
  • Acrylic paint - I used phthalo blue, black, titanium - and mixing white, cadmium red light, yellow ochre and unbleached titanium, but I encourage you to work with the colours you have on hand. Unless you’re a fellow art supply hoarder ;)
